Tri-Power Design Supports Columbia SAE Club in their Race to Succeed

By Robert Mastice

Tri-Power Managing Director/Principal

At Tri-Power, many of us are gearheads. Tony La Rosa, principal of Tri-Power Design, as well as most of our engineers, were involved with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) clubs in their respective colleges. Tony even drove the Mini-Baja car he built with his team at NJIT. The SAE sponsors races that take place every year and involve universities around the world building and racing their own vehicles in competitions (http://students.sae.org/cds/).

Fast forward to today, Tri-Power Design’s support of the SAE lives on in our involvement with Columbia’s Formula SAE program. Tony La Rosa, working with Columbia’s students, manufactured custom hubs for Columbia’s car. Here’s what Kevin McCullough, Columbia team member, said about the completed hubs…

“They look fantastic…they will make excellent pieces to show off the kinds of things FSAE gets to do before they're bolted to the car.”

Kevin and the team also thanked Tri-Power and commented on how Tri-Power helped the Team get through a challenging year and was very grateful for Tri-Power’s support.

Kevin, along with his fellow members, also got a chance to visit Tri-Power’s facility in Denville NJ. At the visit, they all got an opportunity to see firsthand how Tri-Power Design uses engineering and manufacturing in an industrial setting.
