Tri-Power Gets a “Boost from Bucco”     Date: September 30th, 2014

By: Michael Hornyak, Sr. Director of Business Development, Tri-Power Consulting/Tri-Power Design

As the country now thirst’s for manufacturing to return back to its shores, Tri-Power Consulting/Tri-Power Design was visited by Anthony R. Bucco, State Senator from the 25th legislative district and career Morris County NJ resident/politician/businessmen.  The effort arranged by the NJ Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) was to alert Bucco to key engineering and manufacturing firms in his district.  He toured the 8500 square foot facility and met with the two principals who started the business out of an NJIT Incubator nearly 18 years ago.

The business started by two mechanical engineers from NJIT, Anthony La Rosa and Robert Mastice, was a life-long dream for the both of them to advance engineering and manufacturing.  Today, La Rosa works with many Fortune 100, 500 and 1000 companies in conjunction with the concept of an engineering think-tank, while Mastice developed a boutique hybrid staffing model that employs engineers along with various consulting engagements, including custom IT business applications.

During their tenure at NJIT, La Rosa and Mastice met and realized they had common ground and identified their vision and purpose.  “It hasn’t been easy” says Mastice, but with the kind of awareness and help of the NJMEP and local politicians, there is opportunity with a bright path forward.  La Rosa, who is the Principal in charge of onsite engineering and manufacturing, proclaimed that “through the years it has either been feast or famine but having a diverse service profile has helped smooth the ups and downs”.  He does admit that folks are more engaged in the process and that work has been steady over the past few years.

Simply put, the men who had a dream were honored that they presented their company to a politician with credibility and distinction, like Anthony R. Bucco.
